This service involves the monitoring of the building works at regular intervals, with a Certificate of Compliance issued at the completion of the construction work. These site visits are normally carried out at the following stages: -
Foundation Inspection
Floor Slab Inspection
Blockwork Inspection
Roof Structure Inspection
Plastering Inspection
Final Inspection
LJA carry out these inspections to ensure that all building work complies with the Building Regulations and Planning Permission granted.
We will also prepare the Stage Payment Certificate at each stage and issue the Certificate to the relevant Financial Institution.
Many recent changes have occurred resulting in a Code of Practice for Inspecting and Certifying Buildings and Works, including the option in the case of owners of new dwellings and extensions who opt out of Statutory Certification for building control purposes. LJA will be happy to explore options that are right for you and assist in your decision making process.
We can also advise on current responsibilities for homeowners under the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (Construction) Regulations 2013. These regulations apply to construction work that you pay to get done in your home.
